# Wagyu

> No-KYC swap between Monero, Zcash and supported networks, plus the native XMR to XMR1 bridge to Hyperliquid. No account, no identity check. Compliance screening runs before the swap, so a deposit is either swapped or refunded, never held pending identity verification.

Wagyu (wagyu.xyz) is a cross-chain swap service built around the privacy coins Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC). Send BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT, USDC or any supported token and receive native XMR or ZEC at your own address, or swap either of them out to any of them. Zcash payouts go to the shielded receiver of the address you give. There is no account, no email and no document upload at any step. Each order carries a private session key used to track it and, if needed, to submit a refund address.

Wagyu also operates the native bridge between Monero and Hyperliquid: depositing XMR mints XMR1, the Monero representation on Hyperliquid, and sending XMR1 back redeems native XMR.

## How it works

1. Pick the pair and the amount. The quote shows the rate, the fee breakdown, the estimated output and an estimated time.
2. Send to the one-time deposit address. The order carries an exact deposit amount. No wallet connection is required.
3. The order is tracked through its stages: confirming, routing, trading, sending.
4. The asset is delivered to the address you entered. Nothing remains on Wagyu.

If a deposit arrives on the wrong chain, or a route becomes unavailable, the order moves to a refund state and asks for a refund address. No support ticket is needed.

## Fees, minimums and timing

Current route fees, cost breakdowns and minimums are returned by POST https://api-beta.wagyu.xyz/v2/swaps/quote. They depend on the tokens, networks and amount; your deposit transaction network fee is separate. Do not treat a past example as a current quote.

Typical timings on pair pages are editorial estimates from deposit detection. Measured 30-day route medians are available from GET https://api-beta.wagyu.xyz/v2/swaps/route-stats, with timestamps, exact token/network identity and sample counts. These exclude customer wait before detection and wallet unlock time; a null median means insufficient measured samples.

A quote is an estimate and the deposit amount is exact. The final output follows the market during execution; large orders are executed with TWAP so the fill is spread over time instead of hitting the book in one block.

## Zcash

Wagyu swaps Zcash (ZEC) in both directions and pays the payout to the shielded receiver of the address you give: a unified `u1` address or a Sapling `zs1` address receives shielded, a transparent `t1` address receives transparent, and a `tex1` address is refused because that address type only accepts funds from transparent sources. Wagyu describes the deposit and the payout only; it makes no claim about the route between them.

Wagyu never requests KYC. Assets are frozen or seized only under a valid court order from a court of competent jurisdiction or an order from a duly authorised government authority, never on internal suspicion or an informal request. Wagyu is available worldwide except in territories under comprehensive sanctions listed in that policy. There is no country restriction tied to an account, because there is no account.

## Supported chains

GET https://api-beta.wagyu.xyz/v2/swaps/assets returns sourceChainIds, destinationChainIds, chain metadata and featured tokens. Source and destination support differ; a listed network does not imply every token pair is available. Use a quote to check a specific route and inspect catalogStale before describing a catalogue snapshot as fresh.

## Execution

Cross-chain legs route through a decentralized bridge aggregator. The XMR leg trades on Hyperliquid's decentralized orderbook rather than against a fixed spread, and the public fees are shown in the quote before anything is sent. Current volume and counts are at GET https://api-beta.wagyu.xyz/v2/stats/daily?includeMetadata=true. Total volume includes legacy swaps and bridges, like Points. Order counts exclude legacy orders. Current-engine totals include swap, bridge and coinflip orders. Metadata records freshness, legacy coverage and unvalued historical orders; do not describe these counts as lifetime swap counts.

## Common questions

**Is an account needed?** No. A receiving address is the only thing required.

**Can a deposit be frozen?** No deposit is held pending identity verification. Screening happens before execution and a blocked source address is refunded to its origin. A freeze requires a valid court order or an order from a duly authorised government authority.

**Can Monero be swapped for Bitcoin, and the reverse?** Yes, in both directions, along with Ethereum, Solana, USDT and USDC.

**Is there a credit card option?** No. Wagyu swaps crypto for crypto.

**What is XMR1?** The Monero representation on Hyperliquid, issued through the Wagyu bridge and redeemable for native XMR at any time.

**How is the rate set?** By the Hyperliquid orderbook at execution time, with TWAP on large orders.

## Integration

The consumer API has public discovery and quote routes. Order IDs are not credentials: every created order returns a private `sessionId`, sent in the `x-session-id` header for owner reads and actions. The exact destination address works as a read-only proof for a single order.
